The Buyback Promise applies to any piece purchased from The Bougainvilla. The sold price is the price of the piece itself and excludes delivery charges in either direction.
When you return an eligible piece, you choose between two offers on the sold price: 50% in cash, or 70% in trade-in credit usable on anything in the collection. Payment or credit is issued once the returned piece has been inspected and accepted.
Every collector begins with a 24-month buyback window. As your collection grows with us, the window lengthens, and it applies to every piece you own, not only new purchases.

Cumulative purchases means the total sold price of every piece you buy from us, counted once, whether you pay by cash, trade-in credit, or a combination. A piece bought partly with credit still counts at its full price. Reaching a new tier extends the buyback window on every piece already in your collection.
For example: you buy a piece for SGD 1,000, later bring it back for SGD 700 in trade-in credit, then buy a SGD 2,000 piece using that credit plus SGD 1,300 in cash. Your cumulative purchases total SGD 3,000, the full price of both pieces.
The buyback window runs from the date of delivery, after a minimum of six months of ownership. It is 24 months at Collector level and extends to 48 or 60 months as you reach Connoisseur or Patron, per the Membership section above.
The piece must return in the condition it left us, allowing for careful display. Every piece is photographed and documented before delivery, and returns are assessed against that record. Pieces sold as a pair or set must be returned complete. Damage, alteration, restoration, or repair not present at the time of sale will void the promise for that piece. Assessment is carried out by us upon inspection.
Return of the piece to us is arranged and paid for by you. Original delivery charges are not credited and are not part of the credit calculation.
You choose cash or credit at the time you return the piece. Once trade-in credit has been issued, it is usable on anything in the collection, is not transferable, and cannot afterward be exchanged for cash in whole or in part.
