Carved Teak Zodiac Panel Set with Lotus Medallion

A four-panel pierced teak carving in the northern Thai tradition, radiating from a deep lotus medallion through a field of scrolling vines set with roundels: celestial dancers above, and the animals of the zodiac circling the composition. The panels are through-carved solid teak, not MDF or veneer, and decades of weathering have raised the grain into a soft, dry texture no new carving can imitate. At 120 by 120 cm the set works as a statement wall piece, a bedhead, or a screen backdrop, and at just 14 kg across four panels it mounts far more easily than its scale suggests.

ConditionVery good. The carving is complete with no significant losses. Natural age cracks and open weathered grain throughout, a few old fixing holes along the top rail, and a small natural resin streak in the right frame member. All four panels structurally sound.
