A tall matched pair of hand-carved teak wall panels in the northern Thai tradition, pierced right through so the design reads as openwork against the wall. Each panel rises through a dense composition of peacocks perched among grapevines, flowering branches, and heavy clusters of fruit, with deer browsing among the roots at the base, and the two are carved as facing mirror images to hang as a pair. The carving is deep and confident, layer upon layer worked into solid teak, and a soft lime-washed finish settles into the recesses to lift every feather and leaf. At 180 cm tall they make a genuine statement, over a bed as a headboard, flanking a doorway, or reading as sculpture on any wall with the height to carry them. Honest hand-work, sold as a pair.
