A pierced and layered giltwood panel in the Teochew tradition of gold lacquered carving, worked in three registers: a pavilion audience beneath tiled roofs above, a garden terrace with attendants at the centre, and riders passing a gateway toward a boatman in carved waves below. Carving of this kind once dressed the beds, shrines, and reception halls of Chaozhou homes, and a single panel carries the whole tradition at wall scale. It pairs naturally with our Teochew red lacquer cabinet, whose door panels come from the same carving school, and at under a kilogram it hangs happily on any wall.
