A carved stone torso of a woman in a patterned sarong, worked in a pale fine grained stone in the Balinese decorative tradition. The figure wears a wrapped sarong carved all over with rows of rosettes and floral medallions, with layered beaded necklaces across the shoulders and a jewelled girdle at the hips. It is presented as a classical fragment, without head or arms, and mounted on a rough cut stone plinth set with a single glazed ceramic lotus medallion. This is a decorative sculpture rather than an antique, valued for its scale, the quality of the carving, and its quiet presence. At 112 cm and around 70 to 90 kg it reads as a statement piece for an entrance, a landing, or a quiet corner, indoors or in a sheltered spot. Offered as seen, as honest contemporary decorative work.
