A demilune console carved in the Anglo-Indian tradition, with every surface worked: a pierced foliate gallery rises above the top, the openwork apron scrolls with flowers and vines, and the sweeping legs meet in a carved cross-stretcher crowned with a rosette. The egg-and-dart rim frames a deep, polished top, and the flat back sits flush against a wall, making it a natural entryway piece. Carving this dense is slow, skilled work, and the piece reads as sculpture as much as furniture.
