A large carved cabinet in solid elm, heavy and richly worked across the front. Four doors over two registers open in pierced openwork relief, with robed court figures and ladies in garden and pavilion scenes framed by dense scrolling foliage, and carved reserves above and below. Interior shelving runs throughout. The show surfaces have been stripped and limed to a pale natural tone for a contemporary look, while the door reverses and interior retain their original finish. The carved panels are older work in a softer wood than the body, as is typical for this type, closed by brass slide-bolt latches. A genuine statement piece for an entryway, a dining room, or against a long wall, and one of the most storage-generous pieces in the collection.
